WESTSIDE APPLIANCE PARTS & SERVICE is a rapidly growing company that provides home appliance repair services in the Des Moines Metro Area. We are looking for hard-working, technical-thinking individuals to join our team as our Dryer Vent and Gas Fireplace Service Technician! This individual will be trained to perform dryer vent cleanings and gas fireplace cleaning/repairs and perform them on a daily basis.

Customer service is a priority at Westside Appliance Repair. The ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with customers and has a sales-driven mindset.

General Accountabilities

  • Service and repair direct vent gas fireplaces
  • Perform dryer vent cleaning services
  • Help manage a team of maintenance technicians
  • Train and onboard new maintenance technicians

Job Qualifications/Skills

  • Great customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have good driving record and valid Drivers License.
  • Strong diagnostic skills.

Experienced Des Moines-Area Appliance Repair Technicians

WESTSIDE APPLIANCE PARTS & SERVICE is a rapidly growing company that provides home appliance repair service in the Des Moines Metro Area. We are looking for hard-working, technical-thinking individuals to join our team of appliance repair technicians! We are offering $2,500 Sign-On Bonus to experienced techs, and can assist with relocation expenses.

Know how to use a screwdriver? Westside offers PAID TRAINING for applicants at all skill levels, yet previous appliance repair experience is required. We provide continuous factory training on the newest appliance models available.  Through a specialized compensation program, our technicians have unlimited income potential. Our technicians make $75K-$110K a year or more!

Customer service is a priority at Westside Appliance Repair. The ideal candidate is comfortable communicating with customers and has a sales-driven mindset.

We offer a full support staff for our technicians based here in Des Moines, so our technicians can do what they do best – fix appliances! Our goal is to maximize each technician’s daily efficiency by providing full support.  For example, we have a staff that orders, picks up and returns parts for the technicians.  We deliver parts to our technicians while in the customer’s home.  Our support staff answers all phone calls and handles most customer complaints. Our support team also files warranty claims.

Each technician is provided with a new work van. The van contains a full inventory of the most commonly used parts. Technicians operate in tight service route areas reducing drive time. A typical workday is 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

General Accountabilities

  • Service and repair household appliances such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, and stoves.
  • Disassemble appliances so that problems can be diagnosed.
  • Observe and examine appliances during operation to detect specific malfunctions.
  • Refer to schematic drawings, product manuals, and troubleshooting guides in order to diagnose and repair problems.
  • Replace worn and defective parts.
  • Reassemble units after repairs are made, making adjustments, cleaning and lubricating parts as needed.

Job Qualifications/Skills

  • 5 years of Appliance Repair experience
  • Great customer service and communication skills.
  • Must have good driving record and valid Drivers License.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and understanding of electrical systems.
  • Need to be self-motivated in this fast-paced environment.
  • Background and drug test will be completed.

Customer Service Representative

WESTSIDE APPLIANCE PARTS & SERVICE is a rapidly growing company that provides home appliance repair service in the Des Moines Metro Area. We are looking for a hard-working, solution-driven individual to join our customer service team!

Responsibilities and Duties

The Customer Service Representative serves our customers by providing product and service information; resolving product and service problems and by handling customer calls and routing to the appropriate department or paging personnel.

  • Retrieve messages from answering service and route appropriately.
  • Answer incoming calls-1st responder.
  • Schedule service calls as directed. Complete appropriate and required service information. Complete schedule accordingly.
  • Update service database from each service ticket.
  • Make outbound calls to customers in the working to schedule appointment dates.
  • Make outbound calls for other needed information to manufacturers, dealers, customers, etc.
  • Attracts potential customers by answering product and service questions; suggesting information about other products and services.
  • Resolves problems by clarifying the customer’s complaint; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; following up to ensure resolution.
  • Special projects as assigned including assisting service operations and with quality control efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience (in typing and customer service position)
  • Proven customer support experience
  • Strong phone contact handling skills and active listening
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Microsoft Office Skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $14.00 – $18.00 per hour
